creating mumli

Mumli is an original character created by artist Bobbie Fee.

She was born out of a desire to give shape to feelings, thoughts, and sides of myself that don’t always fit into one definition, the playful, the rebellious, the soft, and the strong.

Sharing her with the world is my way of connecting, inviting others to let her into their own world and find a piece of themselves in her. She’s there to help you express what’s hard to put into words, to feel free, be daring and embracing who you are.

Creating Mumli became a way to explore identity, growth, and the freedom to be playful with it. Through her, I can tell stories, experiment, and bring those ideas into everyday life.

the mumli charm

This is the official Mumli Charm. The heads are digitally designed by me and then brought to life in 3D by Jaime Verheij. He 3D prints them, after which I get them back to hand-paint each one, and we finish them by glazing them. Each charm is a small, collectible object, around the size of a tennis ball, made to live wherever you want it. Place it in your home, hang it on your bag, keep it in your car, or carry it with you however you like. Each one sits somewhere between a charm and a small artwork, made to be part of your everyday life. She’s a little mischievous, a little bold, and now you can take her wherever you go.

upcycled mumli bags

I collect second-hand bags with the intention to upcycle them into something new. For this collection, all designs are centered around Mumli, translating her world into hand-painted pieces. Each bag is carefully selected and transformed through custom designs inspired by Mumli. Every piece is one of a kind, and only made once meaning no bags will ever be the same. If you’re interested in a custom piece, you can also contact me for commissions to have a bag personally designed and painted for you.

ceramic mumli cake

For the Mumli Launch, I created a completely original cake, entirely made from ceramics and glaze. Every part of it, from the base to the decorations, was hand-sculpted using a variety of clay techniques to bring texture, depth, and detail to the piece.

On top sits a ceramic Mumli head, making Mumli the middle of her celebration. This one-of-a-kind ceramic cake is both a celebration and an artwork, crafted entirely by hand for the official launch.
